open offices were designed by people who have never needed to actually concentrate

I commute 90 minutes to sit in a noisy room recreating the conditions of my home office but worse. I have headphones on all day. I am functionally alone in a crowd. This is what they call 'collaboration.'

5 claps back

to clap back.

they added a 'quiet zone.' it lasted three weeks before people started taking calls in it.

the research against open offices is extensive and ignored entirely

someone in my office listens to calls on speaker. openly. every day.

the irony of needing to book a 'focus room' to focus in a 'collaborative space'

my productivity went up 40% working from home and they want me back 4 days a week
